Narrative

Do you want to know the story behind each of these songs? Ever wonder why these songs were written? Crimson Sky's first full length album.

The Gate

This song is about how life goes through so many changes. With this project I have left behind many of the other bands and CD's that I have done and moved on. It's almost like I've crossed over, opening up a new chapter in my writing and playing.

Now One Lives As Two

This is the essential break up tune, reflecting upon depression, insanity, and clarity.

Manchester

In 2002 I graduated Rhode Island College. After 6 long hard years all my work paid off. I left that school and left so many people behind, who I miss dearly. I'll never get those days back, I'll only have memories from this point on. The title has nothing to do with this though, that is a silly secret!!

The Shrine

(Dedicated to the victims of "The Station" fire in Feb. 2002)

It is a day that will stick in my mind forever. Billy and I were actually driving home from band practice that night when we heard about it. We went over and watched some of what was happening. I lost a person that night that looked up to me, Nicholas O'Neil. I felt the same way about him too. He was such an amazing person, an extremely talented musician and actor. We also lost a known celebrity, "The Doctor". He and I crossed paths in 1997 when I played his brother's wedding. I grew up listening to his show all the time. This song is for anyone who was touched by what happened. It is, I feel, my greatest masterpiece, and it brought tears to my eyes while I was recording parts of it. Even till this day I fill up when I sing it.

My Mechanical Journey

In June 2002 I spent 22 days on a road trip of this amazing country with my dear friend Jay Adams. We saw and did so much and there were so many ups and downs. What an adventure. The places we went are accounted for and hidden in the lyrics. There is even a sample of one of the movies that we made on the trip.

The Last Page

Jeremy Fortier did a fantastic job on violin in this tune. It's like Kansas meets Opeth for me. We labored for so long assembling the form of it in 2001, it was the first song I wrote for this band! It was also one of the hardest to record in the studio for all of us. Well except for Billy, goober!!! hahahah!
